Covid-19 Updates

Update: 23rd June 2021

We are now back shooting with in person events. We continue to monitor the COVID outbreak in the UK but the situation is much better now we have effective vaccines. This will be the last planned update to this page but if things change, we will of course provide further updates. We continue to offer a safe environment for our guests and this will always remain a top priority for us.

We would like to express our sympathies to anyone who has been effected by COVID-19.

Update: Monday 6th April 2021

It’s been a few months since our last update so we just wanted to give you an update on the current status of our re-opening plans. We hope to re-start our operations from the middle of May as per the government guidelines but at this time it’s a date we are working towards and is not a guarantee. We want to make sure we can offer a safe environment for all, including our team. We will be waiting until the Splat! Team have had at least one dose of their Coronavirus Vaccine before hosting any shoots. One team member has already had their first dose so we are half way there. We will continue to monitor the situation in the UK but we will only re-open when it safe to do so and within the current restrictions.

You have all been so patient and we want to take this opportunity to thank you for waiting. We can guarantee that the wait will be worth it.

Until then, stay safe and continue to enjoy The Splat! Show (Psst, we have a MASSIVE sale on. Go treat yourself!)

Update: Monday 22nd February 2021

Is today’s news from the Government the news we have all be waiting for? Possibly, but we have been here before. We are currently reviewing the government roadmap and will update you all when we have more information.

We are keen to get going again but we have to make sure we are acting within the law and that we can keep people safe. We have made an effort to keep you all up to date since the Pandemic started and we will continue to do so as we work to re-open up.

Update: Wednesday 30th December

Some good news and some bad news today. The good news is that the Oxford University developed COVID-19 vaccine has been authorised for use in the UK starting from Monday which should help us get back to normality. The bad news is that we are now under Tier 4 restrictions. Tier four is effectively a strict lockdown which sadly means we will be unable to host any productions for the next few months. We anticipate that we will be under these restrictions until at least the spring. UK law states we cannot operate our productions while under tier four restrictions and other sites like ours will also have to abide by the same rules as us.

As always, we will continue to monitor the situation carefully and update you all with any updates we have. We remain committed to doing our bit to help bring this pandemic to an end. We appreciate your support during this incredibly challenging time.

Update: Sunday 1st November

A new month long lock down has been announced for England. This means we will be unable to host any shoots, Commercial or Private until the lockdown ends.

We will be here throughout the lockdown to keep you entertained and we have some great unannounced content to come too.

Please take care of yourself and others during this time. If you are struggling, you can reach out to us via email at and we will be more than happy to talk to you. You are not alone during this time.

Update: Friday 16th October

Today we have made the tough decision to close bookings for our private experiences and pause our commercial shoots. Kettering remains in the lowest alert level at this time but the situation across the whole of UK is worsening by the day. To protect The Splat! Team and our guests we are pausing all our operations once again. If you have already booked a private experience we will contact you directly to update you on the current situation.

We have not taken this decision lightly but it is the correct thing to do at this time. This second shut down will have a serious effect on us as a business and the future remains uncertain.

Please continue to enjoy the content available on the site as that is what will keep us going through this second shutdown. Every sale will help us navigate this second shutdown and we really appreciate any support you can offer at this time.

We want to express our thanks to our fans for their understanding and wish them all the best over the next few tough months. We hope we can all be together again soon.

The Splat! Show Team

Update: Monday 12th October

The UK Government announced a new local lockdown tier system today.  This will have an affect on us, our operations and our guests. Kettering where we are located is currently Tier 1 which means we are under the lowest restriction measures.  We follow the rule of six and our operations can continue under these restrictions in a limited way.

While we are able to continue, we understand that many of our guests we shoot with may be coming from areas with higher restrictions than our own. We will be asking our commercial and private experience guests to be honest with us and provide proof of their address going forward while the three tiered system is in operation. While be believe many of our guests will be honest with us, we need proof on record so we can continue to operate within the law and to protect everyone.

We will be unable to host guests who are coming from areas with enhanced lockdown measures (areas under Tier 2 and Tier 3 measures) and as such we expect our operations to be severely affected for a considerable amount of time going forward.

We continue to monitor the situation and will update this page accordingly.

Thank you for your continued understanding during this time and we express our heartfelt support to those effected by Coronavirus.

You can check our local alert level on GOV.UK here

Update: Tuesday 22nd September

The UK Government announced new restrictions today to try and stem the increase in COVID-19 cases. Kettering, where we are located, has been taken off the Government watchlist (the first of three steps before a full local lockdown is imposed) for COVID-19 action and so the threat of a local lockdown in our area (which would halt all our operations) has passed for now.

No other government restrictions announced today will affect our  planned operations while we continue to operate under our COVID-19 Secure Shooting Framework.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and will let you know about any changes to our operations if and when they occur.

Update: Friday 18th September

You might be aware that COVID-19 infection rates have started to rise sharply across the whole of the UK, especially so in England where we are located. We are continuing to the monitor the situation carefully and we will update this page with any further updates.

Update: Thursday 20th August

Just a quick update regarding how our shoots are operating now we have resumed shooting operations. We are pleased to report that shooting under our COVID-19 secure safety framework has proven to be a success. While we are still unable to host double shoots or use custard pies, everything else is working well under our temporary COVID framework. We will continue to monitor the situation and act accordingly to any changes that may arise in the future. We would like to thank all those people who have visited us since we resumed and for following our COVID secure framework.

Update: Friday 31st July

Today the UK Government announced new measures to tackle a rise in new Coronavirus cases. The following areas are now under new restrictions: Greater Manchester, Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Rossendale, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Leicester. If you live in these areas then we will be unable to host you at any of our shoots (Commercial and Private Experiences). If you have already booked a private experience with us and you live in one of these areas, please contact us.

We continue to follow the current official guidance and are monitoring the situation. Any future updates will be posted here on our COVID-19 updates page. We appreciate your continued support during this challenging time.

 Update: Sunday 12th July

This past week we resumed our shooting operations by welcoming our first private experience guests since the shut down that occurred in March. We have now scheduled our first commercial shoot with Mark Anthony that will take place on Tuesday the 21st July. We will continue to move at a slower pace than normal with our commercial shoots for the foreseeable future as we monitor the current situation. Private experiences will continue to be held and are open for bookings but our commercial output will not return to normal for some time.

Update: Tuesday 7th July

We are now re-starting our physical operations, we have been accepting private experience bookings since we re-opened bookings towards the end of June. Please note that we are nearly fully booked for July, so if you want to book a private experience for July please do so before the 12th of July.

Update: Tuesday 23rd June

We are pleased to announce that we will be restarting our physical shooting operations from the 4th July. We will be operating under our new shooting safety framework during this time. You can find out more about this here. Private experience bookings are now open for new bookings and we will be announcing our first commercial shoot since the lockdown soon.

Update: Sunday 14th June

We are now gearing up to re-start production on our commercial shoots and private experiences. We are currently aiming for a July re-start, no earlier than 5th July. We are awaiting UK government guidelines about when we can resume. Currently they have said that we will be able to re-start from July 4th depending on the current situation near that date.

Our physical shooting operations will be running in a slightly different way compared to before the pandemic while the virus is still circulating in the community. While we don’t think you will see anything different on screen, we have provided our new shooting safety framework for you to read. We have done this so you can find out more about how we are operating during the COVID-19 Pandemic and to reassure future guests if they are coming to us over the next few months. Please take a look at it here.

Update: Thursday May 14th

We hope to resume our shooting operations from mid to late summer. We are monitoring the situation carefully and will update this page with updates when we are ready to announce them.

Update: Friday 10th March

The UK Government announced new measures today to counter the growing COVID-19 epidemic within the UK. These new measures will have an impact on all our operations going forward until the situation stabilises.

Private Experiences: Bookings for our private experiences are no longer being accepted at this time. The UK Government has said that there should be no social contact where necessary. This covers all ages within the UK. This could last for a few months or longer. The UK Government is also recommending a halt to unnecessary travel at this time.

If you already have a private experience booked then we will contact you asking you to delay until the situation improves and we can run your private experience. The health and safety of our clients is our top priority. We understand this will be disappointing but we are following official government advice and haven’t taken this decision lightly.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and hope to resume our private experiences as soon as possible. Our private experiences are usually held with two people in the studio, Pete and the private experience client and we are currently evaluating if we can resume our private experiences as soon as possible.

These are unprecedented times and action has to be taken to help support the effort to stop the spread and protect as many people as possible.

Future Commercial Shoots: All future planned commercial shoots have been put on hold until further notice.

Stay Safe and Look After Each Other: Other than that, we here at The Splat! Show wish all our fans the world over the best of health over the next few weeks and months as the world grapples with this pandemic. Look after each other, especially the frail and elderly, stay safe, and please WASH YOUR HANDS.

We always strive to be transparent and honest with our fans. There is no denying that the current global situation is dire, but IT WILL get better. We wanted to share this update with you so you know we are taking this situation seriously while still trying to maintain business as usual.
